True love – created with love…

This artwork was brought to life by Lorraine, using pencil and charcoal.

Instead of being just an image sitting on a computer hard drive, this emotive artwork is destined to be displayed on a wall, as a constant reminder of that special moment, when love was new and the future was exciting and full of hope and dreams.

Life for us all is a myriad of challenges, negotiations and compromise. What could be more positive than having an affectionate reminder of why you got together in the first place. Of how you both felt in those early moments of tenderness, and how important it is to keep life pointing in the right direction.

If you know a couple, whether young or not so young, who are deeply in love, you might surprise them with a wonderful reflection of their closeness and intimacy, set in aspic… something to touch hearts and treasure for all time…

Memories of Loved Ones https://lorrainehughes-art.com/memories-of-loved-ones/ https://lorrainehughes-art.com/memories-of-loved-ones/#respond Wed, 19 Jan 2022 14:45:56 +0000 https://lorrainehughes-art.com/?p=601 The birth of a daughter or son, the arrival of beautiful grandchildren, or the celebration of a favourite family elder – these are moments to treasure.

It’s so easy to snap away with a camera, but you’ll likely be left with mountains of photos on your phone you may never look at again.

Taking a special image, turning it into a painting or drawing, and hanging it in a frame on the wall, means you have a permanent memory of a loved one in your life.

Lorraine Hughes is an accomplished artist, who hails from the seaside town of Eastbourne in the south of England.

It seems that newborn babies and those much loved mature relatives, are the ones that families are most keen to create permanent memories on canvas.

How to Place an Order for Artwork

You probably have photos from the past, or maybe you’d like something more current. Select your favourite photos and send them in to Lorraine, so she can get a feel of your relative’s character and personality.

You can discuss all these things with Lorraine, but you will need to decide whether your artwork is on 300 gsm paper or canvas.

You can decide how large or small you would like the artwork to be. You may have large expanses of wall space, which can take a sizeable canvas, or you may want something small and personal to fit on a bedside table.

Then there is the choice of paint or pencils. Paint could be slow drying oils or fast drying acrylic, and pencils can be grey graphite, or created using colour tones.

The choices are varied, and you can discuss all of these options with Lorraine.

Maybe you have a favourite uncle or aunt – perhaps a cherished grandparent, and you would like a constant reminder. Feeling the presence of someone special, can be a comfort, and a sense that your life is anchored, when so many things around are in a constant state of flux.

When your artwork arrives, and it’s displayed in a special place, it’s the next best thing to having that favourite friend or relative there in the room with you. As the years tick by, it’s good to remember loved ones that may no longer be with us. There will be youngsters coming along who maybe never met their grandparents or great-grandparents. The character of that face you know so well is captured for ever – a moment has been transformed into a forever memory…

Pets are special too!

While we’re talking about “nearest and dearest”… for many people, a dog is considered to be their best friend. Certainly your dog will have become another valued member of the family.

Depending on the breed, your faithful friend might live for 15 years or more. And it’s always a sad time when a dog passes on.

No more excited tail wagging at the mention of a walk. No more elated barking at the sound of your key in the door. And an empty rug in front of the fire, where a happy dog used to stretch out.

To keep those joyful memories alive, many people are now commissioning paintings and drawings of the dogs in their lives.
